Zenia Josephine Andersen 

During my MArch studies I have been introduced to particular aspects of architecture I hadn’t previously been involved with, including algorithmic design solutions, tessellation and digital fabrication. This has resulted in an interest in computational production and industrial design, culminating in a significant personal interest in interior design and the new three-dimensional 3D interior printing. 

 

In the final studio I have attended, Cinematic Commons, I was introduced to the use of essay film in architecture. This made me reflect upon how we as designers create and pursue space in our building design, as well as how we communicate our ideas, and what a powerful tool film can be in terms of selling a feeling and thereby selling the idea we are presenting.

In Cinematic Commons, I finally found the space to tie in what I was interested in, social conflict and problems in our current society, and the chance to create a project, which attempts to pursue a synergy between authority and local residents. 

 

Once my studies are complete, I would like to continue my personal and professional development in a firm dealing with the public sector, ideally solving architectural issues in our health care system, communities, educational system, emergency interventions etc. and taking on projects which will make a difference to peoples lives. I would like to create a working-life for myself which I can enjoy and focus upon the exact personal interests and achievements I have developed in the past 6 years of studying Architecture.
